Colouring your competition with the spirit of togetherness

It was the theme of event. Psychology in art and sports through competition (PIASTRO) is a big event held by my Faculty in national scope. The main event are Football, Basketball, Saman Dance, Modern dance & Photography competition which held for Psychology student throughout the nation or even public allowed. Being a public relation staff for this event taught me many, many lessons and experience. Meeting new people, making new friends, being a professional, catching up the classes that i miss for almost a week, and also being a (nice) junior are really, really a hard work to do.

When i first apply for the position, i never thought that the task could be this complicated. Months before the competition, it's us who sent the invitation to hundreds school and universities around the country. It's us who responsible to call and make sure that the contestant want to attend the competition. It's us who responsible to taking care the requirements from the contestant, and it's also us who responsible for anything that the contestant need during the competition. Moreover, the other committee were pushing us really hard till some point me and my friends are getting mad and sick with the event.

Gosh. It was a hell-tiring-yet-fun-and-also-sad-week. Public Relation staffs worked in pair, i'm with my friend Ina. We're so close so working together is not a big problem, it's actually kinda fun. We're responsible for 7 teams, Football team from Universitas Surabaya, Universitas Indonesia Esa Unggul, SMA Bintara A & B, Basketball team from SMAN 78 & Universitas Indonesia Esa Unggul (Boys&girls team). Almost all of the team were funny to work with. There were lots of moment that thrilled me and Ina while taking care of them before/after the match. We're getting closer to each contestants, and yes, we even cried when Team from UBAYA lost then they have to go home earlier to Surabaya.

Like two sides of a coin, i got the positive and also negative sides from participating in this event. I met new friends from other University which is nice, yet also somehow freak me & Ina out. Some of them gave us unwanted attention :S Yes, you know what i mean. I enjoy almost every match they attended, yet have to skip classes, and deal with the concequences on the next week. I have to spend lots, yes lots of money, energy, time and even emotion for this event.

I've been doing this kinda stuff (creating an event) since i'm in junior Highschool. Every event taught me at least a lesson. And this one might be one of the hardest, at most concequences, but also gave so many lessons. After all the hectic week, we finally meet it's end. By the day of October 10th, yes the fenomenal date 10.10.10. We're extremely happy, relief and full with gratitude to God.

There were Celebrity Basketball & Football back then. Nino fernandez, Bams Samson, Udjo & Yosi Project Pop, Panji and Yogi Finanda were in the basketball team. They successfully made the girls screaming, loudly. And after that, there were Teuku Wisnu, Darius, Vicky Nitinegoro and so on in the Football team. Hell yeah, the girls screamed even louder. At the end of the show, the winners announced. My teams got the First place for Basketball (boys, University), Second place (Girls, University), Third place (Boys, Highschool). So proud of them! Then, RAN closed the show by groovy songs as always. I had so much fun with my friends, and yes we feel the togetherness. I'd like to congratulate all the committee, and thank them for giving me new experience, friends and attachment to the faculty. Yes, i'm proud to be part of Psychology Faculty, University of Indonesia.

Anyway, October is full with birthday's of people that i love. Mommy, GrandMa, bestfriends, ex-boyfriend, (new)friends and so on. I just wanna say, Happy birthday to all of them. Best wishes for everday living and blessings from the Almighty. Thanks for always being a part of my life, esp. mommy :*
